Hi — I’m Tyler McGee, founder of Monarch Sports Group.
Before I ever negotiated a contract, built a business, or raised capital, I was just a kid playing ball in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Sports were a huge part of my life growing up — baseball, basketball, football, tennis. I was on the field or court from the time I was four. Summers on the lake, playing golf, rock climbing- you name it; I lived for competition.

A Different Kind of Playbook
After high school, I stepped into ministry, working with youth and young adults in the local church. I loved investing in people and helping them grow — but over time, I felt a clear pull toward business.
My first substantial opportunity came underwriting investment deals for a small private foundation. Over two years, we reviewed over 50 investment opportunities, chose to fully underwrite around 15, and invested in 6 — producing the highest ROI in the foundation’s history. This is where I began to learn how you evaluate real-world opportunities, negotiate terms, and build value.
From there, I went on to consult with small businesses and boutique firms. Why? Because I saw a recurring pattern: business owners hit ceilings — not just financially, but personally. Helping people break through those limitations became a huge part of my mission.
From the Boardroom to the Locker Room
In 2018, I joined a media company as EVP of Growth Strategies, helping raise and deploy capital into its first feature project. After leaving that company, I founded my own family holding company and completed our first acquisition in 2021 — a company we still operate today alongside two other portfolio businesses and three passive investments.
Now, with more than a decade of experience in business development — having raised tens of millions of dollars, negotiated hundreds of millions in contract value, and helped walk our clients in to numerous fortune 1000 companies— I’ve come full circle. Back to sports. Back to athletes.
But this time, I’m not playing. I’m building.
